App Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 2/26/2026

Welcome to JournAI. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal data is handled in a safe, responsible, and transparent manner.

1. Data Collection

  • Personal Data: We collect your name, email, phone number, and profile picture when you register and update your profile.
  • Usage Data: We log your interactions with the app (tasks, projects, etc.) to improve your experience.
  • Device Data: We record device type, OS version, app version, IP address, and other technical information.
  • User Images: We store images you choose to upload as part of your content to display them in the app.
  • Tracking Data (Optional): With your permission on iOS (App Tracking Transparency), we may collect a device advertising identifier (IDFA) and related event data for advertising attribution and measurement.

2. Legal Bases for Processing

We process your data based on your consent, the necessity for providing our services, and our legitimate interests in improving the app.

3. Data Usage & Sharing

Your data is used solely for operating and improving the app. It may be shared with trusted third-party service providers under strict confidentiality agreements.

If you request a subscription refund through Apple, we may share limited subscription usage information with Apple to assist them in evaluating your refund request. This information may include subscription status and entitlement/feature usage related to the subscription.

Third-party service providers may include: analytics and attribution partners (e.g., TikTok Business SDK) and subscription/paywall providers (e.g., RevenueCat and Superwall) to operate purchases, measure performance, and improve the app.

4. Data Retention & Your Rights

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as necessary for legal compliance. Under GDPR, you have rights to access, rectify, and erase your data.

5. Your Choices

You can control tracking permissions on iOS at any time in your device settings (Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking). If you do not allow tracking, we will not access your IDFA for advertising attribution.

We do not sell your personal information. Depending on your region, some partners’ use of data for advertising attribution may be considered “sharing” under certain privacy laws; you can opt out by disabling tracking as described above.

6. Data Security

We employ encryption, access controls, and other security measures to protect your personal data.
